The art of photography is the inspiration for Oliver Sweeney’s fall/winter 2015 footwear collection; the British label draws parallels between the art of capturing images and the traditional shoemaking techniques to create a range of smart and sophisticated silhouettes.
Things kick off with a selection of premium trainers, which have been crafted using the same techniques and materials as the brand’s formal options. Hand-brushed leathers with minimalist detailing keep things feeling luxurious, perfected for “the kind of photographers who would stop at nothing to get the perfect shot”.
The Blake stitched designs have been inspired by vintage photography, with clean Tamponato leather designs that resonant the feel of classic photographs, while laser-etched details draw references from vintage camera equipment.
His chunky Goodyear-welted shoes allow movement, comfort and versatility – key to the life of the photographer – complete with square brogue detailing that echoes film strips.
