Here is a Behind the scenes look at the show
Fashion and fast food seem like two characters in a shakespearian play . Destined for love or a fate far worse . Gert-Johan Coetzee and Mc Donald’s showcased a stunning array of colours at the 2018 south african fashion week . the big mac inspired show has given all of the proceeds of the exclusive range to the Ronald McDonald house charities .this would directly benefit families who need support during a child’s illness . “ Its comfortable and wearable , but still edgy and glam , and there is something for everyone .”Gert-Johan Coetzee. on showcase were T-shirts and tracksuits in black ,gold, red with stylised , sequinned McDonald iconography . the showcase seemed to be inspired by faux fur and trendy tracksuits and of course blinged up t-shirts Gert-Johan Coetzee wasn’t the first to go on the journey of fast food enlightenment. Notorious fast food enthusiast Alexander wang has had McDonalds pop-ups. hooter waitresses and even 7-11 slurp machines at his fashion week blowouts over the years. or when Jeremy Scott sent out a McDonalds inspired showcase at his debut fall 2014 Moschino runway the designer covered everything from cell phones cases to handbags ,visors to sweaters and more were covered with his take on the iconic Golden Arches which just screamed sue me. many of these pieces sold out almost instantly which makes sense since it is the most recognisable logos on the planet.
